" 'I am different for the sake of being different' is what Lady Gaga is saying" states friend at large, Kelly Gross, in response to an overheard radio conversation concerning the notorious star. "That isn't original". Our locker room conversations are generally light-hearted but outlandish statements against Ms. GaGa require rebuttal.
'Different' for the sake of being different isn't cool. Conformist is cool. Conformist with a tad of diversity is super cool. Flirting between conformist and the edge of bizarre is original. Once bizarre has entered stage left, absurdity is at its pinnacle and turned away.
Bizarre, pictured here thanks to Rolling Stone Magazine, has Kelly and others knocked senseless and naysayers crying "unoriginal".
Alas, the 'absurdly bizarre' is an identity within itself.
Lady Gaga is a style: redefining, reinventing, re-birthing consistently now matter what repercussions arise.
Some coined such individual as a + Renassaince + woman many years ago. "Lady Gaga" is just as accepted or unaccepted as plaid, madras, bell- bottom jeans, highlighter jumpsuits, platform shoes; pick a trend any trend.
I beg you this, embrace the + Renaissance + women, men, concepts, literature, cultures, relationships, in order gain an education, (or perhaps a loose one depending on your taste). Either way it's an education, right?
