+ 9 haikus +

I wrote a little Christmas Blessing yesterday for the family. Each person at the table had a haiku ( the 5 sylllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables- Japanese -patterned poetry) to recite. There's a not so inconspicuous coded message. Brendan, my brother won a state of the art knife set, and you can too if you find it out.
Enjoy your family, loved ones, loved friends, and company! We have a lot to be thankful for today.

9 Haikus

Calm quiet blue nights
Chilled winds swirl outside the door
Cheeks blushed, flushed of pink --

Here we find solace
Hearths ablaze and hearts ablaze
Huddled and gathered.

Red auras extract
Rich contours of these dark woods
Reacting to warmth.

Icicles glisten
Iridescent windows glow.
Illuminating.

Sacred stories read.
‘Silent Nights’ gloriously
Sung in tall churches.

Tarnished beige books
Tell of a revered young Man
Teacher of patience,

Mellow- hearted good
Mastery of kindred love.
Many can heal too

As long as there are
Avid ears and avid hands
All will be at peace

So it goes this night
Search yourself for Him, proudly
Sing of His taught hymns.
